Summer necklaces

This summer I haven't been able to resist the Fluor Trend! Nor the Necklace Trend!

All these necklaces are this season's and since I've bought them, I haven't stopped wearing them! The best part? They are all under 15€! :-)

La Condesa

Image of CondesaImage of MarquesaImage of Cuernavaca

Since I first saw these jackets in Madrid I fell in love with them!

La Condesa has a very characteristic style and I think these jackets look great with jeans and both Converse or stilettos!

I´ve always wanted one but I could never decide on the model....and then I moved to the Netherlands and lost all hope of trying them on and getting one!
So you can imagine my happiness when I discovered, via her blog, that you can also find them in Amsterdam!!

I confess to... having read Fifty Shades!

I kept seeing the books in every bookstore, many of the bloggers I follow showed pictures of the books (without describing the story), everywhere I went I saw people reading it (specially women, but not only!)...

So when my chance arrived, I bought the whole Fifty Shades trilogy..... Now comes the funny part....I was completely convinced I was buying the next "Girl with a dragon tattoo"-kind-of-thriller, so you can imagine my face after a few chapters!! Hahahahahahahaha!!! ;-)

Some interesting facts about the book:

- it is inspired on the Twilight characters  (dangerous and non-convenient love)
- it has already sold more than 31 million copies worldwide (I am curious to know if that means copies-of-the-trilogy or of  copies-of any-of-the-three-books)
- it has set the record as the fastest-selling paperback of all time, surpassing the Harry Potter series
- most of the copies sold are digital, as people are kind of embarrassed to be seen reading them

A Day at the Park 2012

Don´t be misguided by the title of the post. It is not about a peaceful and quiet day in a park, it is about one of the best summer festivals in Amsterdam!

A Day at the Park takes place every year in the Amsterdamse Bos, a forest just outside Amsterdam. I was expecting something very simple and was positively surprised by what I saw! Excellent organization (shuttle bus to get there, plenty of places for food and drinks, etc..), 3 different stages, a marketplace, mojito ice creams, Jamie Oliver´s Fifteen, average age low thirties, warm sunny day,.... Have I convinced you for next year´s edition??? :-)

It is the first time I ever go to a festival and after this one, I am festival-lover!

My festival outfit? Hunter wellies, Zara black jeans, Zara skeleton T-shirt, Zara necklace, GAP sweatshirt, Bag from a small shop in Saint Jean de Luz, Sunglasses from Hard Rock Punta Cana.

My customized LV bag

This bag was a present from my mom, and I can say it is the best bag I have ever owned! Top quality, comfortable both hanged in the arm or shoulder, resistant to the tough life I put it through, beautiful shape and.... MINE!!!!! :-)

LouisVuitton offers the customization both in-store and on-line, but from experience, I think it is better to go to the store to get a feeling of the different colors and options (I had to go several times until I finally decided the combination of colors, letters and stripes!)

In Spain everybody has 2 family names, from both the mother and father. Normally you only use the first one, but as it was a my mothers gift, I thought the least I could do is use all 3 initials!

New Favorite - Just Marie Jewellery Amsterdam

I recently discovered what is becoming my favorite brand of special-but-affordable jewellery! Let me introduce you to Just Marie Amsterdam!

This dutch brand was recently founded by 2 dutch young women with many years of experience in the jewellery business. They work only with excellent materials such as silver, gold and semi precious stones, and the design is absolutely fabulous!! You can wear their pieces either with jeans, t-shirt and sneakers or to a very formal wedding! (In Spain weddings are much more formal than in the Netherlands, I will dedicate a post to that in the future!)

The website is in dutch, but with the google translator bar or even without it, experienced e-shoppers shouldn´t have any problem in getting their lovely orders home!

The pink ones I bought as soon as I discovered the website and the two other ones were gifts from my wonderful boyfriend!

One of the reasons I´m so into the world of blogs is Bloglovin. At first, I thought it was too much work to enter the URL of each blog I liked and in many cases, just to find there was no recent update...

With Bloglovin you just need to log into your account (where you have previously selected the blogs you want to follow) and see the lastest updates! A brilliant (and addictive) idea, since it is a good way to discover new blogs!

Beauty - Agua Cutanea Aquilea

I´ve been using this product for many years now (and I am its BIGGEST FAN). In the last couple of days I´ve found myself recommending it to many different people, so I thought it clearly deserved a post for itself!

What is it exactly? Agua Cutanea from Aquilea is a toning lotion as well as a miracle-worker!! As a toning lotion, it is ideal for oily skins, but as miracle-worker it is THE SOLUTION when an ill-timed spot appears in your face. In this case, just get some cotton, soak it in Agua Cutanea, and press it against your unwelcomed friend! I promise you will have the situation under control in the next few hours!! (this applies for teenagers and grown-ups, both women and men!)

This product is from a Spanish company and you can buy it in any pharmacy in Spain. For those of you living abroad, you can get it shipped here, or most Spanish online pharmacies.

My Favorite Boots

When I was first discovering the world of blogs, I stumbled upon these gorgeous type boots at my friend Pia´s blog A Style Manifesto.

She had bought them via the blogger Silvia Gattin, who regularly updates the stock of these best-seller boots on her eshop. She gets them from Morroco, where they are handmade with kilim rugs, and have the characteristic imperfections which make them unique!

By then I was already applying my self-imposed-rules-for-buying-shoes and I was pretty happy when when I went through the checklist and saw I could buy the boots! :-)

Cafe MURILLO - Madrid

During one of my last visits to Madrid, I went on a girls-only night and had dinner at Cafe MURILLO. This lovely restaurant is right behind Museo del Prado, so it is centric enough to be easy to find, but unknown enough to be ignored by the legions of tourists.

The decoration is very cozy and intimate, great for a romantic dinner or a small party of friends.

The food is DELICIOUS. Simple food of great quality with a fancy touch. Don´t miss the pizzetas or the St Felicien cheese.....mmmmmm.....

The above pictures are from the official website. The ones below are made with my iphone, so sorry for the bad quality!

New in - Shoes

As I lately spend most of my time in airports, I have managed to develop a sixth sense to detect good buys before boarding!

I saw these shoes and I couldn't resist as they complied with my self imposed rules for buying shoes:

1.- Useful and comfortable in not-high-heel-friendly Amsterdam (these have thick heels)

2.- Not owning other shoes in this color or style

3.- Love at first sight feeling when seeing them in the shop

Do you like them??? :-)

Hard Rock Hotel Punta Cana

I have just arrived from one week organizing an event at Punta Cana at the incredible Hard Rock Hotel!

The main figures about the hotel are: 1.700 rooms, more than 3.000 employees, 10 restaurants, 8 swimming pools, enormous beach, 1 casino, 1spa, 1 beauty center, 1 theater.... You name it, they have it!

My favorites: the hotel staff always charming and ready to help, the spa and the weather!!!!!

I was there for work and had a lot of fun with the White Dinner and Rock 'n Roll party we organized, so I can imagine how it can get if you go with friends!!

Punta Cana

I am currently at Punta Cana for a work event and as the jet lag makes you wake up veeeeery early in the morning, you can enjoy its incredible beaches when there is no one yet!

PD. Happy to celebrate Spain winning the Euro Cup!!!
